San Diego city politicians want to charge you $350-500 more PER YEAR under a new Garbage Tax!
Inflation is skyrocketing and working families are struggling to pay bills – but San Diego’s greedy city politicians want more of your money!
Join the Fight to Stop Them – Vote NO on Measure B!
San Diegans already have one of the highest cost-of-living burdens in the nation – and the massive surge in inflation is making things even harder! Despite this, San Diego city politicians are proposing to add to that financial burden by imposing a new GARBAGE TAX on all homeowners!
How much will you be forced to pay? The estimate is $350-500 per household per year – and that’s only the start!
City politicians say trash services are currently “free” – but that is grossly misleading. In fact, San Diego voters passed the People’s Ordinance in 1919 to direct the City of San Diego to earmark a portion of existing property tax revenues to provide the service. This policy of using existing property tax assessments was reaffirmed by voters in 1981 and 1986.
Under these three separate voter-approved measures, you are already paying for trash service – but city politicians have proposed this scheme to double-charge you.
City politicians say it is “unfair” for apartments to have to pay for trash service while single family homes get trash service without an additional charge. WE AGREE – but it is the city politicians who enacted this unfair policy! City politicians are forcing apartments to pay for trash service because they found a loophole in the People Ordinances approved in 1919, 1981 and 1986 – and have already exploited that loophole to force apartments to pay.
Want to restore fairness? It’s simple: demand that greedy city politicians simply go back to complying with the People’s Ordinance for all San Diego residential properties!
